The Business Case for Quality

Quality and supply chain decisions are business decisions. In this opening session, C45 leadership will frame the day around how supplier management, Process Control Plans (PCP), and regulatory readiness directly impact margin, resilience, and growth. We’ll set out the challenges facing Canadian cannabis supply chains—and the opportunities for those who treat quality as a strategic asset.

10:05 AM - Panel 1
Building Strong Supplier Partnerships

This session explores how to move from transactional purchasing to true partnership. Speakers will share practical approaches to risk-based vendor qualification, working across multiple licence types, and managing international suppliers under GMP and GPP expectations. We’ll discuss the supplier metrics that actually drive performance, as well as real-life stories of relationships that went wrong—and how they were repaired.  What happens to your operations when a critical supplier fails, shuts down, or loses compliance? This panel digs into contingency planning, dual-sourcing, and using data to keep production stable. Learn how LPs, labs, and suppliers are turning quality processes into business advantages through smarter forecasting, better communication, and technology-enabled oversight.

10:55 AM - Platinum Sponsorship Discussion

11:10 AM - Panel 2

Indigenous Perspectives & Ethical Supply Chains

Led by Indigenous experts and leaders, this session will highlight how relationship-based approaches to supply chains can strengthen accountability, sustainability, and long-term success. Participants will learn how traditional knowledge can inform modern quality systems and how Indigenous governance models can inspire more ethical procurement and partnership practices across the industry.

12:00 PM - Gold Sponsorship Discussion

12:10 PM - Panel 3

Regulatory Risk and Moving the Needle

Regulatory risk increasingly runs through your suppliers. This panel connects Health Canada trends and inspection findings with day-to-day supplier oversight. We’ll cover common PCP pitfalls, practical approaches to record retention and documentation, and how LPs are aligning GPP, EU GMP, and provincial requirements without duplicating effort. Expect candid conversation about what inspectors actually look for—and where companies stumble.

2:00 PM - Panel 4
Track A - PCP Deep-Dive Working Session

This interactive session is designed for people who own or support Preventive Control Plans. Through a mix of short lectures, examples, and small-group work, we’ll cover PCP fundamentals, complex product streams (extracts, edibles, beverages), and integrating suppliers and EMP programs into your hazard analysis and verifications. You’ll leave with concrete ideas to strengthen your PCP and make it truly inspector-ready.

Track B - Fractional QAP Playbook (Micro Edition)

A practical session on how micro operators successfully use part-time / fractional QAPs: what “good oversight” looks like, how to structure weekly/monthly touch points, what must be owned onsite, and how to avoid gaps in regulatory oversight.  Fractional QAP Matchmaking Round tables with

structured “speed networking” tables that connect micro operators with experienced QAPs, labs, and documentation/automation providers—focused on fit, cadence, and practical support (not sales pitches). This complements your sponsor showcase + networking emphasis.

3:00 PM - Panel 5

Innovation & The Future of Cannabis Quality
From AI-supported document review to automated Certificate of Analysis (COA) verification and advanced traceability systems, this panel explores what’s coming next in cannabis quality and supply chain management. Speakers will share how they’re using technology and data to reduce manual work, prevent errors, and support growth. We’ll also touch on sustainability, life cycle management of equipment, and how to build a quality culture that’s ready for the future.
